Experience the power of Personal Training and Pilates with a master trainer.  For 22 years I've challenged my clients to meet their fitness and health goals by using a variety of equipment.

Each person comes with their own special needs and desires.  Some people need help rehabbing from injuries.  Others want to lose weight and improve strength and muscle tone.  Whatever your specific needs, we will assess your situation and create programs that best match your goals.

For those that value privacy, the entire gym is here just for you.  We offer Private Sessions and Duets for couples, so bring a friend and have more fun.

 

Seniors of course are welcome!  With older and injured clients we take extra care and precautions to ensure your safety.  Your results will match your consistency.  The more dedicated you are the better your results will be.

Rehabilitation Services

At Fitness in Belmont, we understand how frustrating it can be to deal with injuries or setbacks that limit you.  We are committed to finding pain-free and effective solutions to help you recover and rebuild your health.  Helping clients rehab is one of our passions. As we get older the injuries and pains add up and this takes the joy out of life.

To address this we start with a comprehensive evaluation and look for the underlying conditions that are the root cause of the problem, rather than just treating the symptoms as many professionals do.  We understand that addressing the real cause of a problem is the only way true healing can occur.

In our practice we use a three pronged approach - releasing, stretching and strengthening.  Releasing breaks up tight knots of muscular tension that make the muscles tight and weak and can cause pain in other parts of the body.  Muscles and tendons progressively shorten with age and that's where stretching comes in.

 

Stretching improves flexibility and muscle stiffness which can alleviate pain and prepares the body for a workout.  It also improves circulation which speeds healing and helps prevent injuries.

Once you've stretched then it's time for some cardio exercises.  This warms up the body preparing it for muscle toning and more vigorous exercise.  Once the prep work has been done your muscles are in optimum condition to get to work, and that's what we do next, a vigorous workout on a variety of personal training and/or pilates apparatus.

 

Fast forward now to the end of the session and we finish with a little more stretching.  This loosens any tightening that may have occurred from exercising and prepares you for your day, feeling vital and full of energy!

 

Specific conditions that we work with are knee replacements and knee pain, shoulder injuries, hypermobility, post partum recovery, sciatica and back pain, sports injuries and deconditioning syndrome to name a few.  

 

Many of our clients are young moms who need support and reconditioning after having children.  Seeing them get back in shape and the smiles on their faces is truly rewarding.  We work with clients in Belmont, San Carlos, San Mateo, Woodside, Redwood City, and Burlingame, of all ages and races and from all walks of life.  Everyone is welcome!
